The Michael A. Russo Memorial Scholarship Foundation was created in memory of our son Michael, who we lost to a rare disease called Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Michael was a bright, energetic, and caring person. He always went out of his way to help others. Michael was employed by the Cliffside Park Police Department. He was furthering his education at Rutgers University studying Municipal Government.

Our mission is to continue to spread the love, joy and light Michael brought to people’s lives and carry on his legacy of serving others. Our foundation seeks to support Cliffside Park High School students who are pursuing a career in the medical field- encouraging students to achieve their dreams, create their own legacy, and make a difference in the lives of others.
